In the last 5 months, Generative AI Community has organised:
Pratyush is a researcher at Microsoft Research and AI4Bharat (IIT M) with a focus on systems and deep learning for language technologies. He is deeply interested in realising AI as a force of social good.
Talk Theme: Brief story of AI4Bharat - the mission and what we have achieved. Will then move on to LLMs, provide some technical insight into intrinsic dimensionality in deep learning, and his take on how innovation will develop in building custom LLMs
Sachin Dharashivkar will speak about LLM Finetuning and RLHF
Sachin is a founder who is exploring use cases of AI agents. He enjoys training Reinforcement Learning agents and exploring novel applications of Large Language Models.
Talk Theme: Introduction to Supervised and Reinforcement Finetuning.
Three steps of training chatGPT style models. How to perform supervised finetuning. Why is Reinforcement Learning from Human Feedback important and How to train Reward and Policy models.
Location: Bengaluru. Exact location is shared in the invite on approval.

If you are interested in speaking at GenerativeAI July Meetup in Bangalore, note the following guidelines:
Talks are 30-minute sessions including time for Q&A. A talk proposal is a short description of a talk that is aiming to convince someone to part with 30 minutes of their time, in order to learn about something. A good proposal should disclose:
While there is no strict template for this, you should make sure that the audience can understand why your talk is relevant for them.
Editors will comment on the description. Make sure to watch out for comments from Nirant K on your submission. Editors’ decision on which talks are selected for the conference will be final. Talks which are not selected will also receive feedback, so that speakers can present their talks at other opportunities.
If you submission is included in the shortlist, you will be required to prepare an outline of your talk and go through a rehearsal.
The call for submissions will be closed on 21 July. In the meanwhile, talks will be selected on a rolling basis, as individuals make submissions.
You can make a submission on any topic that you think is under GenerativeAI - from using generativeAI in ane existing use-case to a talk on new applications to what consitutes generativeAI to what are the components that have caused the step jumps in generative AI.
If you have questions about submitting a talk or speaking at the conference, post a comment on the comments link.
Recommendation systems with Large Language models - Is cold start problem solved ?Recommendation systems with large language models (LLMs) have the potential to solve the cold start problem, which is the challenge of recommending items to users who have not yet interacted with the system. LLMs can learn to represent users and items in a way that captures their latent preferences, even if they have not interacted with the system very much. This allows LLMs to make recommendatio… more

Sachin Developing User-Friendly LLMs: Introduction to Supervised and Reinforcement FinetuningThree years ago, OpenAI’s GPT-3 model created a buzz in the Machine Learning community and garnered some media attention. However, it had limited impact on regular users. In contrast, the launch of chatGPT two and a half years later became a viral sensation. This was due to the user-friendly and enjoyable experience it provided. In this talk, we’ll explore model finetuning approaches that contrib… more

Akshat Gupta Harmonising Art and AI: Crafting Jazzy and Juicy Video Snippets through AIAbstract In recent times, Live Streaming platforms are gaining popularity where live content is being shown to users. Typically, the videos created by the creators range from 15 minutes to an hour. After intensive research, it was found that a sizable chunk of users drops within first 30 seconds of the video. Another piece of research shows that, on average, a user only has an attention span of 3… more
