Some lessons learned with recreating production configs in dev environments

Outline

Often, post-deployment, we wish to recreate production setups in our dev environments. There are certain aspects that a dev who is not familiar with infrastructure may not know.

This talk/demo covers such issues, and showcases some techniques (beyond the usual Chef/Puppet) that can help in such situations.

Speaker bio

Sriram “Ram” Narayanan is a Devops Engineer at Thoughtworks. Over the years, he has enjoyed working as a developer, build and deployment ninja, and sysadmin. He is a core developer on Belenix, and his current non-tech passion is practicing on the pan flute.
