Resisting Aadhaar and Voter ID linking - what you can do

The Indian Parliament passed The Election Laws (Amendment) Bill, 2021 that allows for Voter ID-Aadhaar linkage, despite evidence of Aadhaar contributing to marginalization of already vulnerable communities. Concerns about privacy of voter’s data abound, with this new policy.

In this session, we will help participants understand how to participate in forums and spaces where you can voice your opinion and register your dissent against linking Aadhaar and Voter ID. In this session, we will look at:

  1. The flow of power through various circuits and therefore understanding how and where to voice your dissent.
  2. What you can do to prevent Aadhaar and voter id linking?

This will be an interactive session, with moderators facilitating the discussion.
