Contain It Yourself

Submitted Mar 9, 2015

To build a linux container using basic tools and utilitis, so that we understand what is under the hood of containers. This will help us debug our setups better and if required take charge from all the fancy wrappers.

Outline

This will be a “Full-length 40 min talk”.
I’ll be creating a linux container by isolating its disk, network, CPU and memory live on my laptop. Although the audience will be supposed to be knowing basic networking and *nix concepts, I’ll still be giving one-liner descriptions to freshen up memory and make sure that somebody partially familiar doesn’t get bored.

Requirements

  • Basic networking
  • Familiarity with linux

Speaker bio

Started career as Application developer, liked Infra automation and CD setups, but couldn’t dislike writing code, so I do both at Thoughtworks.
