Submitted Mar 6, 2018

GraphQL is a preferred alternative to REST for API endpoints because of the flexibility it provides in building the contract between UI and services. Apollo client provides a declarative way to query GraphQL endpoint. We will explore how to use Apollo client in React components to get data from remote API endpoint and render component declaratively.

Outline

  • What is GraphQL (+ Demo)
  • Advantages of using GraphQL instead of REST
  • Using GraphQL with redux-saga
  • Declarative rendering of component using Apollo client

Requirements

Knowledge of React components with props and state
