JSFoo is an event on building apps with JavaScript. This is an event on what it takes to build full size apps with JavaScript, whether in the frontend or backend.

This event is now over. It was on October 1, 2011, in Bangalore.

Sessions were 45 minutes each. The venue was Dharmaram Vidya Kshetram again, in the Christ University campus at Dairy Circle.

Bulding great mobile web apps: Some things you might want to know

Objective is for the audience to learn about the latest in various html5 and related technologies in order to make great experiences on mobile web applications.

Outline

The talk will cover some of the things which are needed in today’s environment to make great mobile web applications on modern mobile browsers on smartphones. We will take about

  • Developing apps to work offline
  • Scaling to different resolutions and other eye candy (this part is not JS specific though and involves a lot of CSS3)
  • Geolocation
  • Accessing other device capabilities using bleeding edge web standards
