Uber is a technology company that seamlessly connects riders to local, licensed, professional drivers. The Uber app lets you leave your car at home and request a safe, reliable and stylish ride within minutes. You can track the arrival of your ride and you’ll receive a text message when the car arrives. Payments are automatic and hassle free and there’s no need to tip. The credit card on file is charged at the end of the ride and you’ll get an email receipt detailing your trip.
In just three years, our popular mobile app has made nearly 48 cities in 19 countries around the globe more accessible to residents and visitors alike while helping tens of thousands of partner drivers grow their small businesses. We debuted in four cities in the last few weeks alone -- Bangalore, Dubai, Cape Town and Shanghai with many more to come.

Community engagement to build a brand identity
I’m the Community Manager at Uber, Bangalore. We’re revolutionising transportation ecosystems in major cities across the world, and I am in a unique position to talk about the technology and the community response from a Bangalore perspective, and possibly India, considering Bangalore is our first Indian city.
