Strategies for Cost Optimization on Azure - Lessons learnt at udaan

Abstract
We share our learnings with Azure Cloud, and detail our journey to achieve more than 50% cost reduction over multiple quarters. While some learnings are specific to udaan, we expect this to be helpful for anyone starting out with Azure, on Azure, or in some cases, people on other cloud platforms as well.
Structure
The talk will cover four areas in detail.
- SQL
- NoSQL (CosmosDB)
- Storage
- Virtual Machines
We will also describe a few Azure provided resources, and a couple of in-house tools which helped us along the way.
