Section: Full talk Technical level: Advanced Status: Submitted

This talk will be geared towards how linkedin leverages CFEngine to operate at high-scale, challenges with CFEngine and how we solved it.

CFEngine as a major player in Infrastructure as Code at linkedin:
Why CFEngine? (Why not Puppet/Chef)
Loadbalancing CFEngine requests without a loadbalancer
How we hacked CFEngine file transfer (how we distribute ~500MB cfengine policy repository accross ~70k+ hosts)
SysOps Cache: How CFEngine+Redis help us in discovery of hosts at large-scale

Participants should be aware of Configuration Management of tools like Puppet, Chef, CFEngine etc.

Speaker bio

Checked out the sysops cache repo - should be interesting to see how sysops cache is being used and it’s applications outside of Linkedin.

It would be helpful to have a more in-depth outline of your proposal.
