SaltStack Workshop

This provides a chance for attendees to have hands-on experience with SaltStack, in addition to being able to ask more in-depth questions and discuss particular topics at greater length.

Outline

This workshop will extend some of the concepts coverered in the Introduction to SaltStack talk by giving attendees a chance to have hands-on experience with Salt. We will go through a series of hands-on exercises that will allow everyone to quickly see how Salt can be used to solve real problems in their organizations. Atendees will have a chance to ask questions, get individualized help and discuss Salt-specific use cases as a group.

Workshop Timings: 11 am - 5 pm.

Requirements

Atendees must bring their own laptops and must have network access and an SSH client. Intermediate Linux knowledge is desireable but not required.

Speaker bio

Mike Place is the Sr. Platform Engineer on the Core Engineering team at SaltStack. He works primarily on performance and optimization in Salt’s core. He has been working with Linux for over twenty years, in a wide variety of environments.
