Today’s engineering teams don’t just build applications; they also need to deeply understand user behavior and align products with evolving sentiments. Traditional database systems often force a difficult choice: optimize for Online Transaction Processing (OLTP), ideal for rapid, individual operations, or for Online Analytical Processing (OLAP), designed for complex, aggregate queries. This often leads to fragmented data architectures and operational complexity. Modern databases, however, are bridging this gap with Hybrid Transactional/Analytical Processing (HTAP) capabilities, offering a unified solution.
In this talk, we’ll dive into:
Sachin Japate is a seasoned database engineer with over a decade of experience specializing in database architecture and performance tuning. He is deeply passionate about MySQL and its fork, Percona, and currently brings his expertise to Flipkart’s DBaaS team. There, he has been instrumental in building a managed service platform for efficiently deploying and managing databases like MySQL and TiDB.
Raj Suvariya is a Software Engineer at Stripe with over 8 years of experience spanning Android, Frontend, Backend, and Platform Engineering. He has a strong passion for modern data solutions and was recognized as a TiDB Champion for 2025, reflecting his contributions and commitment to the data engineering community.
