How to get your app featured on tech blogs

Submitted Oct 5, 2012

As a blogger, I’m regularly buried under a large number of app review requests. And while I’d love to give each app a fair opportunity to impress and earn the feature it deserves. However, the manner in which we’re approached often leads to us ignoring the mail, either because of lack of information or not highlighting the important stuff.

The objective of this session is to educate indie developers in how to approach bloggers and other PR outlets, giving them an inside look into our general process and how to game it.

Requirements

Nothing, though they “might” like to take a couple of notes here and there, which is up to them.

Speaker bio

I’m the co-founder of Twocents.in and the manager of the GDG Delhi Android. On the weekends, I write for Phandroid.com, one of the most popular Android blogs in the world.

I specialize in app reviews, having started popular series on the site such as “Apps I uninstalled this week”, “The Rookie Review” and “Uniquely Android”. Typically, each post would record over 6000 page views on the site alone, in addition to the hundreds of thousands of our readers who view our content on mobile apps such as Pulse, Flipboard and our Phandroid News app. Each feature would result in a significant spike in downloads for the app, as can be viewed from the screenshots in slides 10 through 13 in the presentation I have linked.
