About Rootconf 2026 Annual Conference

Platforms for AI, and AI for Platforms
13 & 14 November
TERI Auditorium, Domlur, Bangalore; online

Rootconf 2026 Annual Conference will be held on 13th and 14th November 2026, as a hybrid event allowing participants to attend either in-person or via livestream.

Rootconf has, since its founding, served as a community-led forum for platform engineers, SREs, and infrastructure practitioners to share real operational experience. All conference topics, sessions and speakers are curated, peer-reviewed and supported by a group of community editors.

This edition also marks the first anniversary of the Rootconf Platform Engineering meet-up series, and the program will reflect that continuity — grounded engineering stories rather than trend talk.

Talks will cover war stories and production case studies — what worked, what didn’t. In addition, this edition features interactive sessions, including demos, workshops, Birds of Feather (BOF) sessions, and partayyy!

2026 Conference Direction

Rootconf 2026 explores two connected questions:

How are platforms changing to support AI systems? — infrastructure for inference, model serving, agents, observability, security, governance, token costs, deployment workflows, and enterprise concerns around reliability and control.

How is AI changing the practice of platform engineering? — AI-assisted operations, agents for observability or incident response, automation for deployments and rollbacks, security workflows, and developer platforms.

Core platform engineering topics — reliability, observability, databases, infrastructure, security, scalability, internal developer platforms, cost, automation, and operations — remain equally central. Tracks will be shaped after reviewing submissions rather than forced into a theme early.

📅 Deadline for proposals: 9 October 2026

Speaking at Rootconf 2026 — submissions so far

The CFP is open and proposals are already coming in across inference infrastructure, agent systems, and production reliability stories — from practitioners at companies including Nutanix, Glance, Sahaj, and IDfy. A few standouts from the submissions received so far:

Volunteer with Rootconf 2026

Rootconf runs on community effort as much as on talks. We’re looking for volunteers to help with:

  • On-ground floor operations and registration during the conference and workshop days
  • Workshop coordination and speaker support
  • Editorial support — reviewing proposals, working with speakers on drafts
  • Documentation and live-notes during sessions

Volunteer application form will be added this week.

About the Audience

  • Platform engineers, SREs, DevOps engineers, infrastructure engineers, security engineers
  • MLOps and data infrastructure engineers
  • Engineering leaders evaluating how AI affects infrastructure, operations, observability, security, or cost
  • Practitioners building internal developer platforms and tooling
