oVirt with Gluster - Rev up your infrastructure

Yet, the public cloud need not be the only option for your infrastructure needs. Learn how oVirt and Gluster can provide a scale out alternative.

Outline

This talk will cover how organizations can maximize available physical resources to accomodate the ever changing IT requirements, using Gluster for storage and oVirt for virtualization needs.

oVirt is an open source tool used to create/manage virtual datacenters. oVirt manages virtual machines, storage options and virtualized networks utilizing an easy to use web interface (see www.ovirt.org for additional info)

Gluster is an open source distributed file system that can scale out to store multiple petabytes of data. (see www.gluster.org)

This talk will cover how gluster can be used with oVirt to set up a scale-out data center.
Audience can

  • Learn how to provision gluster storage with ease using the GUI
  • Use gluster storage domain to store virtual machine images
  • Manage and monitor your VMs and storage

Requirements

Anyone using Linux and interested in managing VMs using their existing hardware.
