Katello is a Foreman plugin that can be used to manage all kind of content, RPMs, Puppet modules, and Docker repositories. With it, you can apply errata to update packages on your hosts, manage subscriptions, stage your content through environments and much more.

Outline

Foreman is a complete lifecycle management tool for servers(bare metal, cloud, vmware, etc). It supports provisioning, performing configuration management and also reporting.

Katello is a Foreman plugin that can be used to manage all kinds of content, RPMs, Puppet modules, and Docker repositories. With it, you can apply errata to update packages on your hosts, manage subscriptions, stage your content through environments and much more.

In this talk, we shall see the importance of Foreman in the world of DevOps and also see how its contents are managed by Katello.

Requirements

An open kind to learn and some basic knowledge in linux is required.

Speaker bio

I am an Associate Software Engineer at Red Hat. I been been working on the Foreman Project for nearly 8 months and am a part of the official organization(https://github.com/rahulbajaj0509). The Foreman Project extensively uses Katello for its content management. While i am not coding, i like to play Table Tennis and Chess.
