Visualizing Information

Submitted Dec 20, 2013

to introduce the audience to visual thinking and visual representation of information.

Outline

As the attention span of our audiences reduce, we see a drastic change in how we design and consume user interfaces today. Information Visualiazation is emerging to be the way we communicate and comprehend information.

This workshop will introduce Information Visualisation from an overall perspective and will cover the below:
the Visual nature of Information.
Semiotics and semantics.
Breif introduction to Information Theory.
Applications in User Interfaces.

The session will be from a Design Thinking perspective and will introduce basic visualising techniques (and is going to be fun).

Who should consider this?:
Front-end folks.
Coders who deal with analytics.
Designers

Requirements

This workshop is generally more awesome when we use chart papers, scissors, glue and colored papers, etc. We have to see how much of it is logistically possible.
