Ember-Data

Submitted Nov 12, 2013

The talk will aim at familiarizing the audience with the problems that we face with data in case of Client Side Applications and how Ember-Data aims to solve these problems. I will talk over the core concepts of Ember-Data and then about the public apis exposed that can be used to manage data.
I will also cover some basics of Ember.js on the UI side.
Finally, I will aim at walking through a simple Web Application using Ember.js and a Nodejs server with the data being managed by Ember-Data

Outline

Single Page Applications have seen a rapid rise in the past few years and with that boom, client side frameworks have been coming up almost everyday. One such Client Side MVC Framework is Ember.js which is an open source framework that lets you create ambitious web apps.
But, even with these frameworks, we face certain issues in terms of ever changing apis and json data. Ember-Data aims to solve problems like this so that you can concentrate on doing what is important, and that is creating the Web Application without wondering or trying to figure out how the server is functioning.

Requirements

A text editor (Sublime Text preferably)
The latest version of Ember and Handlebars from http://emberjs.com/
The latest of either beta or canary build of Ember-Data from http://emberjs.com/builds
