How JSLinux works

Submitted Jul 11, 2011

JSLinux is a PC emulator written in Javascript.

In this session we discuss the functioning of JSLinux and the challenges in building an emulator in a browser

Outline

People who really understand what is happening here: http://bellard.org/jslinux/ will be fascinated.

When the page above loads, you will see a fully functioning OS that is making use of ‘resources’ in your browser.

Please note that this is not a shell that is connecting to a remote machine. Try disconnecting from the network and then open an editor, write some code and compile it.
