GraphQL subscriptions with Lacinia, and how it compares to Java and Node.js

Submitted Oct 28, 2019

I will share my experience using GraphQL subscriptions in various languages. I will both demo it’s use in an application, and share some performance test results comparing them.

Outline

I will explain a bit about GraphQL, and how GraphQL subscriptions can be used to steam events from the backend to the frontend. After explaining how I implemented Lacinia, I will share my experience doing the same with Java and Node.js, and share some results from performance tests, comparing the different implementations.

Speaker bio

Gerard had been doing mainly Java in his professional career. Once he learned about Clojure he’s build several passion projects with it. He also has an interest in Apache Kafka and Rust.
