Deferred deep linking as a feature has become a mandate for apps that want to retain user context when crossing the boundaries between the web and mobile. Even though deep links are supported natively in Android there is much heavy lifting required for the developers to efficiently build systems for attribution, routing and more specifically edge-case handling. Branch has become the de-facto for deep linking and provides interesting features out of the box that can be leveraged for growth.
In this talk we will explore deep links in depth - What, Why and How. Then, after a brief explanation of deep links we will see how developers can set up Branch for deep linking in less than 5mins and then see the links in action. Finally, the talk will provide insights into Branch’s open-source deep linking and how developers can build their own deferred deep linking solution.
Ankit is a technology evangelist at Branch and works with some of the biggest apps globally on their mobile growth strategies. He has over a decade of experience in professional web/mobile apps development and was previously the CTO at Letsintern.
