Android support for IOT gateway solutions.

This talk aims at android support towards IOT gateways/middleware solutions, where an android gadget can receive data from nearby devices over WiFi or BLE and publish the data to IOT cloud platforms using MQTT,CoAP,HTTP REST protocols through its good support of 3G/4G connectivity.

Outline

Planning to cover the following in this talk

  • Eclipse Paho service for MQTT protocol, demo of sample app

  • CoAP libraries(nCoAP) and sample apps

  • REST services using Retrofit/Volley,sample apps

  • Support for WiFi, BLE Connectivity

  • Cloud connectivity examples

Speaker bio

Rajesh is a faculty member of CDAC’s Advanced Computing Training School, Pune and evangelist in embedded systems,IOT domains.He loves teaching and open source.He has expertise and interested in areas like linux system programming,kernel programming, RTOS and working with embedded linux. He is the guest author for EFY Group’s Open Source For You Magazine,wrote articles on embedded linux,android USB in 2014 and on IOT protocols recently.He was the speaker for open source events like FOSS.In@Bangalore,GNUnify@Pune,FOSSMeet@NIT,Calicut, OSI Days@Bangalore in the past years. He is keen on FOSS awareness among student community and keep exploring open source solutions,especially open source trends for embedded systems, IOT solutions these days.
