Introduce and discuss how the Bluetooth Low Energy beacons can be leveraged to detect proximity and indoor positioning.
Outline
Beacons are hardware devices that can be detected by mobile devices with Bluetooth 4.0 or higher. These devices can be used to track where the customers are in a store or to provide relevant offers to the customers. Intelligent apps can be created to identify these beacons and provide your customer a better user experience.
In this talk we will introduce you to BLE Beacon and will have a demo session with code.
Requirements
Besides eagerness to know what the beacons technology is, there are no specific requirements.
Speaker bio
Vijay Sanjos Alexander is a Technical Specialist in Research & Innovation – Technology Center of Excellence group of IGATE. He is a technology evangelist with over 7 years of IT experience. He has worked on architecture and design for various Android-based enterprise solutions. As part of R&I group, he has been involved in research and development of emerging technologies and trends.
