Construkt MakerSpace (Crawls + Finale)

Hive Pop-up Maker Party is an attempt to map and empower a community of educators and creative people who share a passion to innovate, evolve and change the learning landscape.

Mozilla believes in the concept of learning by making. Technology can be an extraordinary tool for empowerment. Our goal is to promote connected learning and grow digital literacy.

Outline

• Our network of individuals and organizations host a learning station, i.e. a simple table-top activity, based on their programs.

• Science fair setup/ various booths across the loft/ open space

• Individuals/ organizations demoing/ showcasing projects

• Hands-on sessions at each station/booth

• There will be a moving crowd, meaning, a group visits a station, learn something, ask questions, if the facilitators have something hands-on planned they participate and then move to next station.

• The idea is to inspire people to learn in a interactive, fun way, and then try building things from what they learned.

• Webmaker is a part of Mozilla’s non-profit mission to create a more open, web literate world. Webmaker tools make it easy to create things on the web. Make your own web pages, interactive videos, remixes, mobile apps and more—learning web mechanics, code and other valuable skills as you go. The Webmaker mentors will be teaching participants to create and remix the web at the Maker Fest.
