Many fintech innovations have to deal with two-sided markets or platforms. These are product platforms which require creating two distinct sets of users. Examples: customer/merchant in payments, passenger/driver for cabs, publisher/consumer for ad services; These products present challenges which are very different than for those who make and sell widgets. Talk covers challenges of platform products and Nearex’s approach to them.

Arun Tanksali is a co-founder and CTO of Nearex, a pioneer in micropayments. He was previously the CTO of Mahindra Comviva, an Indian multinational in the telecom domain and was the co-founder of Jataayu Software prior to that. He has developed and delivered products in these organizations which have been used by more than 100 million people across the globe. He is an active developer, product manager, tester and field engineer. His current interests are in making society adopt electronic cash and his broader interests are in the area of harnessing technology for the greater good of society.
