Color choices can either make or break a data-visualization. In this talk I will cover color theory and its implications for color pallette choices, color as a pre-attentive attribute in how humans percieve visual information, the semantics and emotions associated with different colors and how that can affect how successfully a visualization conveys its intended purpose. The talk will also touch upon accessibility - color choices that work for a wide range of audiences and common pitfalls to avoid while picking colors for your graphs.
The session will be helpful for practitioners in data-viz - anybody who creates their own graphs for either communicationing data insights or analyzing data.
