OVERVIEW
From cave paintings and memoirs to Strava activity, we love to keep a record of what we do. However, even with the immense amount of data collection that my phone does for me, I still somehow forget the smaller details of my day-to-day life. In 2024, I wanted to be able to see my life beyond the basics and focus on the newness of the everyday, even in the so-called “boring routine”.
To do so, I began by tracking my everyday highlights and habits. I also made themed charts every month to try to look at my time through different lenses - like how my schedules changed after I started working or how many times I found myself on 100ft road after moving to Indiranagar.
The proposed installation would include an artist’s book that compiles these data drawings as the final data object along with the original journal that I began taking these notes in. The compiled book would incorporate different elements of book-making to provide a tactile, interactive experience for the reader.
