Analytics is changing. Once upon a time, an analytical query taking a few seconds to execute was considered acceptable. Additionally, the query would analyze smaller volumes of data that were loaded in batches. This may have been sufficient for internal dashboards but falls short for customer-facing applications. In today’s on-demand world, customers expect up-to-date insights and millisecond response times — expectations that traditional architectures simply can’t meet.

Originally developed at LinkedIn, Apache Pinot is built specifically to solve the hardest challenges in analytics: realtime, low latency, high throughput analytics.
