India's new data regime

Submitted Jun 13, 2022

Over the past few years, the effect of the digital world on the real one has had a huge impact, more than we probably realise.

However, the lack of significant governance and regulations on the part of countries regarding the digital world have made many governments (foreign and domestic) wish to bring it under the regulatory control of the state.

Europe’s GDPR is the most prominent in recent years, though many countries have implemented their own version of data protection and data regulation laws (Japan, China, Turkey, etc) that have resulted in Data Regimes over the world.

Now, it’s India’s turn. What will our Data Regime look like and how will it affect us and our digital ecosystem?
