Question from Pavan Kumar on how to handle compatibility of screen readers, because for the same code each screen reader behave differently?
Usually, all the screen readers work on elements the same way if the code follows HTML, CSS and ARIA specifications correctly. The way the screen readers announcing the elements may differ but you won’t see any major differences. On the other hand, the compatibility at the browser level may certainly vary. For example, NVDA works well with Firefox and Chrome well. But JAWS started supporting Chrome completely only in recent times.
Sangeeth Sudheer - posting a question here: if we’re providing a toggle between infinite scroll and pagination, which one should be the default? Is there a way to detect the preference?
Answer from Satish: That’s upto the dev/marketing team. It’s a compromise but the important thing is to have an option to toggle between pagination and infinite scrolling.
Darek Gusto - From a11y perspective, does it make a difference how much new content we load at one time?
Darek Gusto - Is it ok to provide infinite scroll as an option that can be switched on and off?
