Spawning isolated on-demand developer environments in kubernetes
Submitted Apr 19, 2025
Topic of your submission:
Kubernetes
Type of submission:
30 mins talk
I am submitting for:
Rootconf Annual Conference 2025
I developed a tool jango-fett which is a kubernetes controller that allows developers to create an exact replica of prod environments for development and a rapid feedback loop
We’ll discuss the challenges faced in building this, handling changing dependencies and the problems faced with adoption of internal developer tools.
This talk is ideal for everyone, the target audience is both software developers and platform engineers. The main benefit of this talk is that it just doesn’t talk about technical challenges but organisational challenges as well.
I’ve also given this talk at Gophercon India and FOSSASIA 2024 (Vietnam)
My name is Yash Mehrotra and I’m currently working at Flanksource where we are building Mission Control: A kubernetes native internal developer portal for operational resilience.
I’ve been working on and around developer tools for 7 years and have been involved in developer productivity initiatives in all the companies I’ve worked at. I’ve been a Software Developer, a DevOps Engineer & a Platform Engineer in the past.
In my free time, I love playing football and badminton. I am also an avid follower of F1 both for its engineering prowess and exciting drama
