AI coding assistants are significantly increasing developers’ productivity. However, despite their many benefits, there is one major problem—these assistants rely on LLMs as their knowledge base, which comes with knowledge cutoffs. As a result, AI coding assistants sometimes generate buggy code and include vulnerable packages. In my talk, we will explore the open-source project Codegate and how it addresses this problem.
