This talk gives an overview of how we at Practo architected a react app that serves our web as well as mobile users. What level code sharing or conversely isolation we’re able to achieve which this approach, and the valuable learning we got from doing this.
We serve our users on web and mobile using the same code base but do it without taking the responsive approach, which allows us to build unique UX/UI targeted to specific paltform. The approach we chose allows us to reuse a lot of code helping us keep the development time to build for multiple platforms low and still serve the best experience we can offer. It also allows us to optimize for mobile and desktop separately, since users on these platform have very different resources available when it comes to network, processing powers etc.
I am Abhishek Nair and I’m a software developer at Practo.
