A genuinely warm community

Submitted Dec 10, 2020

I’d just moved back to Bangalore when HasGeek was being born and it gave me an immediate entry into a community I’d been searching for - the intersection of technology and society. There was an obvious focus on fostering not just another meet-up group, but a genuinely warm community based on shared interests and values.

I cannot overstate HasGeek’s impact on my professional life - I met co-founders, future colleagues, clients, mentors and advisors by just being part of the network. I remain grateful for the connections that I made; and the deeply thought-through and values-driven approach that Zainab and Kiran bring.

It’s hard to believe that it’s been 10 years since Kiran and I walked through the midnight bazaar’s of Ahmedabad to talk about HTML and CSS. As HasGeek goes into their second decade, I wish them the very best, and remain a firm supporter, evangelist and friend.
