Towards a better understanding of how to manage privacy concerns with public health concerns during the COVID-19 crisis and beyond

About this event: The role of big data in public health delivery and management has become starkly clear in recent times, particularly in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic.
At the same time, concerns around states and the private sector utilizing public health data platforms as a tool for mass surveillance and control are also growing.
This discussion aims to have a discussion around balancing these two concerns and better understanding how citizens can engage with the democratic process to enable appropriate policies and standards in public health data systems
