For 18 years, I have been a professional web developer and a technology skeptic. Now, as a co-founder and CTO, I (Jagadish K.) am living the great AI paradox every single day. We have cracked the code on speed, but that velocity has triggered a crisis of quality and collaboration.

Like many of you, I’m constantly asking:

What is the true, comprehensive cost of adopting this new paradigm?
How do we enable teams to work faster and smarter while boosting their quality of life?
Am I over-optimizing or underutilizing this incredibly powerful, yet unruly, toolset?
What does the future of my teams look like?

The data backs up the sentiment: 84% of us are using AI, but 66% are frustrated dealing with code that is “almost right, but not quite”. That subtle flaw is the Hidden Productivity Tax nobody is talking about.

The vision: forging the AI-native playbook

Starting 4 December, I am curating a bi-monthly Birds of a Feather (BOF) series dedicated to building a community of advanced practitioners - the early adopters, the skeptics, and the system architects. The goal isn’t just discussion; it is to synthesize the architectural discipline, audit protocols, and team structures needed to master this new era. We’re moving beyond “co-pilot” to “co-worker,” and we need a shared blueprint for the agent economy.

Session 1 focus: the productivity paradox

Our first set of sessions, The AI-native team: collaboration, code quality, and the cost of speed, will dive into the highest-stakes questions:

How seamless or challenging was it to introduce the AI co-worker to your team ? How did you choose it ? Is AI a part of non-technical teams ? If yes, in what capacity ?
How do you monitor code quality and risks on generated code ? Do you have guard rails ?
Which aspects of your development, testing and release are now shared with AI ?
How are you managing IP risks and code lineage when the U.S. Copyright Office is still deciding who owns the code?
When agents handle the scaffolding, what does the new career path look like? Is the junior developer now an “AI Orchestrator Trainee”? How does this “junior” now grow in their career in the absence of active hand-on development tasks.
How do we build trust and enforce quality when AI-generated output demands senior-level auditing?

I am looking for 3-4 seasoned practitioners and engineering managers who are actively integrating autonomous AI agents, designing generative workflows, or tracking the true cost-to-benefit ratio in production - to participate as contributors in the first Birds of Feather session.
