Section: Workshop Technical level: Intermediate
Learn to quickly do static and interactive visual exploration of large datasets in R
Exploratory data analysis is a fundamental part of the data science pipeline. This workshop will enable you to build your skills to do quick static and interactive EDA using R. It will cover the following topic.
- Introduction: The Grammar of (Static & Interactive) Graphics
- Portrait: Single Variable Distribution (Continuous, Categorical)
- Comparison: Dual Variable Comparisons (Continuous vs. Categorical, Categorical vs. Categorical, Continuous vs. Continuous)
- Multi Variable: Using Color, Shape, Size, Facets, Matrix, 3D, Parallel
- Maps: Starting with analysing spatial data
In addition we will cover what type of interactions would be useful for further exploration e.g. Navigation, Selection, Annotation, Brushing, Filtering, Tours
