Analyzing Terabytes of Data with Google BigQuery

Submitted Apr 13, 2013

An attendee would understand how they can use Google BigQuery to analyze very large data sets in a very simple fashion using interactive SQL analysis. We will also offer insight into the implementation of the Dremel engine that powers Google BigQuery.

Outline

Google BigQuery is a product that allows you to do interactive analysis on very large data sets containing billions of rows using a subset of SQL. We will give an introduction to Dremel and ColumnIO that allows us to do this extremely quick analysis. We will explain how this product can be used with a simple demonstration. We will also compare this to other Google products such as Google Cloud SQL.
