Let the end-user Localize

Submitted Aug 28, 2012

The objective of the talk is to showcase a new Paradigm of ‘Social Localization’. Social Localization allows end-users to localize every app they use in Android.
The talk will also showcase a demo of the platform developed by Smargav team.

Outline

As of today, Localization of an app is completely dependent on the developer of the app. End-user who is using the app has no control over it.
We have developed a platform called ‘Social Localization’ Platform, which allows the ‘end-users’

  1. To Localize the app however they want. Eg: ‘Voice’ app-name can localized as ‘awaz’ or ‘sound’ or ‘boli’ or even ‘आवाज़’

  2. Localize every visible text in any 3rd party app.

  3. The platform also allows users to share their localized data with other users of the same platform, so that any user can download similar set of localized data sets for their app.

  4. Add any ‘new language’ support for the app. Eg: Facebook app might not support Hindi localization. So the end-users can change the visible texts from English to Hindi on their own.

  5. and more....

Requirements

A Projector, Web Camera to show the Android live-demo.
