The Need for Privacy and Data Security

There’s been an exponential change in the way people interact with digital products over the last decade, perhaps more so in the last 5 years. A decade ago only the “tech-savvy” folk had a sizeable digital footprint. Today nearly everyone has one. While it’s great that so many have access to the convenience provided by digital products and communication platforms, this is increasingly at the cost of private data being provided to these platforms - location, KYC documents, name, address, bank/card details, and the list goes on. The onus of data governance falls not only on regulatory bodies but also on the companies themselves to take that extra step to secure their user’s data.
Privacy Mode has provided a channel to learn about the best practices in this sphere from other practitioners and more importantly understand their perspectives on this. The various sessions on relevant topics and new developments have been very insightful.
