Outline
A hand-held “Nanoparticle Synthesizer” has been developed by us which can be used for synthesizing metal nanoparticles in a simple, rapid way. The raw materials are Weed Plant Parthenium histeroporus leaf extract and silver nitrate. The hand-held device is cheap, power free, portable and contains microfluidic chip (PDMS) having microchannels. The total cost of the device may be around 100 rupees. An Indian Patent has been filed from IISc, Bengaluru for the device.
