While the word ‘pandemic’ stems from the Greek root ‘pan’ meaning all-inclusive, the recent Covid-19 crisis has highlighted the stark inequalities that have had a disproportionate impact on different socio-economic groups. Some might argue that a disaster isn’t the time to seek human rights protection, but what better time to understand how social inequalities create imbalances in resource allocation from food and shelter, to healthcare and relief?
This session hopes to unbox the ‘human’ side to the pandemic, and holds lessons for today, and tomorrow.
