Abstract

Humans have fancied and feared humanoid machines for more than 2000 years. In this talk, we follow the thread that ties our search for super-human machines together with millennia of developments in philosophy, logic, and mathematics. We take a closer look at what Machine Learning & AI really are, what they aren’t, and how they are affecting our societies. This is a non-technical talk, accessible to laypersons from all disciplines. No math required.
