 \n\nRedis Enterprise\, a versatile in-memory database platform\, has rapid
ly gained prominence within enterprises. In this presentation\, we will ex
plore the growing adoption of Redis Enterprise and share valuable insights
derived from our experience working with some of the world's largest Redi
s Enterprise customers. Discover how Redis Enterprise has empowered these
organizations to reduce infrastructure costs while significantly boosting
performance.\n\n### Redis Enterprise cost dynamics\nOur discussion will co
mmence with an in-depth examination of Redis Enterprise Cloud's unique cos
t dynamics. Redis Enterprise Cloud's cost structure encompasses various fa
cets\, including database software\, operating systems\, compute resources
\, storage\, and operational expenses. We will spotlight the database cost
s\, which are chiefly influenced by factors like dataset size\, throughput
\, and utilization of advanced features such as Active-Active Geo-distribu
tion. We will move on to discuss how Infrastructure costs will also be add
ressed\, emphasizing their accumulation over time\, especially when dealin
g with extensive data sets.\n\n### Redis Enterprise cost optimization stra
tegies\nNext\, we will delve into our pioneering approach to Redis Enterpr
ise cost optimization\, encompassing the following key dimensions:\nRedis
Enterprise Multi-tenancy: Redis Enterprise Cloud saves cost because of it'
s multi-tenant architecture at a database level in which a single deployme
nt of Redis Enterprise Software (often deployed as a cluster of nodes with
in a single Redis Enterprise Cloud Subscription) serves hundreds of tenant
 s. Each tenant has its own Redis database endpoint which is completely iso
lated from the other Redis databases. With a single Redis Enterprise Cloud
Subscription of a few nodes (AWS EC2 instances/GCP VMs)\, you can support
your development and testing efforts and then take it to production. Sinc
e Redis Enterprise Cloud is a fully-managed serverless DBaaS offering\, al
l these things are abstracted from you and only few database configuration
s are needed to spin up the Redis Databases.\n\n### Redis Enterprise Auto-
tiering \nRedis uses DRAM to store data as long as it fits in the availabl
e memory. But DRAM is finite and expensive\; those limitations present a b
arrier to developing and operating applications that rely on large dataset
s\, such as fraud detection\, user profile management and cybersecurity. R
edis Enterprise’s auto tiering lets you use solid state drives (SSDs) to
extend databases beyond DRAM capacity\, so you can build applications tha
t require large datasets using the same Redis API. Using SSDs can reduce i
nfrastructure costs by up to 70% compared to only DRAM deployments.\nMulti
-Model Flexibility: Understand how Redis Enterprise's support for various
data models simplifies infrastructure by eliminating the need for multiple
specialized databases and messaging solutions\, resulting in cost-efficie
nt consolidation.\n\nJoin the Redis team for this 30-minute talk as we dem
ystify Redis Enterprise's cost structure and provide actionable strategies
for optimizing your Redis deployments. Whether you are a software develop
er\, architect\, or operations professional\, this talk will equip you wit
h the knowledge and insights to optimize costs and performance for your mo
dern applications.\n\n### Speaker \nSumit Shatwara is Solution Architect a
 t Redis. \n

DESCRIPTION:In an era where data drives decisions and fuels innovation\, t
he management of databases plays a pivotal role in an organization's succe
ss. This presentation dives deep into a holistic approach to database mana
gement\, covering four crucial aspects:\n\n1. Database Utilization Monitor
ing: Discover the importance of keeping a watchful eye on your database's
performance\, exploring key metrics and tools for efficient monitoring.\n2
. Cost Optimization via Resource Consolidation: Learn how to identify and
eliminate resource inefficiencies within your database\, resulting in subs
tantial cost savings.\n3. Upgrading the Database to MySQL 8.0: Uncover the
benefits and essential steps of migrating from end-of-life MySQL versions
to the robust MySQL 8.0\, ensuring your database stays current and secure
.\n4. Ensuring Better High Availability: Explore strategies and technologi
es to guarantee uninterrupted database availability\, even during unforese
en disruptions.\n\nThis talk aims to equip you with actionable insights an
 d strategies to enhance your database's performance\, reduce costs\, and e
nsure its continued reliability in a data-driven world. Join us as we emba
rk on a journey towards database excellence.\n\n### Speaker\n[Vinoth Kanna
