I will be talking mainly on why the decision of moving to AWS was made, what were the key learnings from the migration, scope and effect of the project, key challenges we faced throughout and few approches which one can follow. I will also be focussing on the Long term vision/roadmap in AWS. This presetation will explain the entire journey of moving to AWS from on premise. Intended audience : System Administrators, DBAs, CSPs, Engineers who has a plan to optimize their infrastructure, Network engineers, VPs, PMs.
- The decision behind moving to AWS
• Business initiatives • Application architecture
• “Lift and Shift”, then optimize
- Identify the scope and effect
- Key challenges
- Planning and Implementation / High Level Design
- Long term vision
• The big picture
Having experience of 5+ years in the IT and worked with Infosys, Cognizant and now The Economist Intelligence Unit, I have the understanding of how system works, how the Servers/applications/DB architectures are made and where they can be improved. Migrating to AWS was one of the challenging steps for our organization and I am glad that I was a part of it. All these years in the field have given me combination of skills and experience, as well as a sense of where the industry has been and where it is going to be in the future.
