Abstract

Are you ready to embrace DevOps? Do you have a DevOps roadmap defined?

Unlike a couple of years ago, today I do not need to explain the importance of DevOps. DevOps comes with a benefit of shorter time to market, with assured quality, security and business benefits. Though everyone wants to adopt DevOps today, the difficulty lies in how to adopt DevOps, especially for legacy systems.

Most companies have questions like: What is the best DevOps approach for me? How do I transition to DevOps in an agile and phased manner? Which tool best suits my case? How can I align my business goals with my DevOps goals.

In order to transition to DevOps, it is important to assess how ready you are to adopt DevOps. Is your organisation, people and culture ready for the change? Does you technology stack pose any bottlenecks in adopting DevOps? What process changes need to be introduced to make your delivery experience better? At what stage of DevOps maturity do you stand today?

This talk will show you how you can assess your organisation to check how ready it is for DevOps. The outcome of your assessment will be a DevOps score, which maps to the DevOps maturity model. I will explain with the example of some real use cases, how the DevOps Readiness Survey can be conducted to produce a report of where you stand today. With this report I will show you how you can map your results to define your DevOps transition roadmap.

At the end of the session, you will be able to walk away with a project plan, detailing the phased approach for you to embrace DevOps!

We’ll need a draft slide deck, outlining the exact content that will be covered and the flow. Please upload a link to the slide deck here. Also please record, upload and share link to a two-min video where you explain what this talk is about and why the audience should attend.

Apologies for the delayed reply. I have a WIP deck (rather notes). The thoughts behind the concept are mentioned here. The actual ppt will be a lot more interesting. This is an original idea/concept which we hope the DevOps world can pick up. This has not been presented before at any conf, hence the work is still in progress.
