In this flash talk we shall have a brief look at the emerging leaders in the Infrastructure Automation space and identify the key challenges ahead.
Over the past few years an immense amount of energy has been focused on Infrastructure Automation, the final frontier in cloud computing! This has resulted in a diverse set of technologies, promoted by the various key players, vying for attention of the DevOps folks. To make matters more complicated automation across the various layers of a typical enterprise application deployment typically end up being the forte of different technologies based on the choice of development platform (Java/Java EE, .Net, Node.js, Python, RoR, PHP, etc.) and the choice of deployment platform (RHEL, Ubuntu, Amazon Linux, Windows Server, etc.)
Almost 20 years of global and cross-cultural experience in Strategic Consulting, Solution/Product Architecture, Program/Project Management, and Implementation in various industry verticals such as e-Commerce, Advertising and Marketing, Map Data Management, Petrochemicals, Publishing, Pharmaceuticals, Third-Party Logistics, Food Retail and Insurance.
Proficient at evangelizing new technologies and methodologies within an organization by organizing boot camps, seminars, and hackathons.
Extensive experience in Cloud/Web/Mobile/Desktop Application development using Amazon Web Services (EC2/S3/SWS/SNS/EMR/RDS), Java (1.7)/JEE (6.0), .Net 4.5/Azure, ECMAScript, Flex 4.x/AS 3.0, iOS, Android on a number of containers: Glassfish 3.x, JBoss 7.x, IIS 8.0, and Node.js.
Designing and implementing Enterprise Application Integration Solutions based on Messaging and Web Services(SOAP RPC/RESTful) and middleware such as JBoss ESB, Apache Camel, and Redis.
Expertise in use of various frameworks such as Spring, Hibernate, PrimeFaces, and Code-First Entity Framework.
Experience in designing RDBMS schemas on Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL databases and in designing and implementing NoSQL and native XML databases such as MongoDB, Cassandra, Hive, Tamino XML Server.
Experience in implementing Data Warehouses using Pentaho, Scoop, Informatica PowerCenter, PALO/Mondrian/Hive and building Visualization and Reporting Solutions using FusionCharts, Oracle BI, Crystal Enterprise, and Metric Insights.
Architecting complex deployments on Public (AWS/Azure) and Private (OpenStack/Ubuntu MaaS) Clouds using infrastructure automation technologies such as Chef/Juju/Puppet/Fabric/OpsWorks/Jenkins/Go.
