DESCRIPTION:Chef is an open-source system integration framework built for
automating cloud server provisioning. \nFabric is a command-line tool to a
utomate common sys admin tasks on a remote server.\n\nThe source code of a
n app needs to be deployed at a hosting provider. Depending upon the traff
ic the host needs differential treatment in provisioning. \n\nThe talk cov
ers aspects of chef as a provisioning tool at various levels of cloud infr
astructure. An in depth talk about when to use chef server and chef-solo.
Some other wrappers built around chef that makes life easier while working
with chef. \n\n The talk also aims at showing how cookbooks and recipes a
re written which the chef will use to prepare(provision) the dish(server).
\n\nThe latter half of the talk covers fabric as an automated deployment
tool.\n\n### Speaker bio\n\nI am an open source enthusiast\, python develo
per and sysadmin. I work at agiliq.com.\n

DESCRIPTION:This talk goes into kind of problems that are usually seen wit
h managed environments\, while it uses a Java application as an example to
drive the points across\, the learning applies to other managed environme
nts as well.\nThe talk aims to drive the discussion from problems that one
would see as user of the subject application\, and gets into the root cau
se(often following it all the way to the hardware) and discusses fix for t
he pattern of problems that the example falls into.\nObviously such a talk
is not enough to equip one to find and fix any kind of performance issues
\, but it aims to look at majority to very high value fixes that may go a
long way in scaling an app vertically.\n\n### Speaker bio\n\nThe talk will
be driven by two speakers(Pavan KS & Janmejay Singh):\n\nSpeaker name: Ja
nmejay Singh\n\nBio:\n\nJanmejay Singh is a senior developer and agile pra
ctitioner working for ThoughtWorks Inc.\n\nHe works on a Continuous Integr

orks Studios product and one of the three pillars of ThoughtWorks Adaptive
Application Life-cycle Management suite. He is also an active Open Source
enthusiast and contributor. He has co-created a one stop test-parallizati
on solution called TLB (Test Load Balancer) and works on and submits patch

nce tuning excercises across several releases of Go. He has been instrumen
tal in finding and fixing various problems ranging from lock contention an
d memory management to DB query tuning and client-side perceived slowness.
In addition to performance analysis and optimization he is also deeply in
terested in CI\, delivery-practices\, CD and dev-ops practices\, and in th

DESCRIPTION:Working on a cloud shouldn't be any different from any other l
arge systems deployment. But it is not so - the fact that clouds enjoy a o
rganic growth path\, which involves very little planning from the time you
r web cluster goes from 20 to 120 machines. And such scale is often a good
problem to have as your business/service becomes popular. \n\nBut that's
going to make your 10 terminals with "tail -f" not scale all of a sudden
. Data rates are going to climb\, the connection count is going to go up b
y a magnitude & the sense of control is lost in degrees.\n\nAnd there are
great solutions for some of those problems out there. But this talk is not
about them\, this is about those one-off solutions which you're going to
throwaway once the week is through.\n\n### Speaker bio\n\nI’m Gopal by d

DESCRIPTION:KVM(Kernel-based Virtual Machine) has become the standard for
virtualization technology on Linux. It takes advantage of hardware-based
CPU Virtualization extensions available in all modern Intel/AMD based pro
cessors.\n\nThe beauty of KVM is\, it takes a standard Linux Kernel and tu
rns it into a hypervisor(the ability to run multiple operating systems).
KVM does CPU virtualization by loading a kernel module. Every virtual mac
hine is just like any other standard linux process. What does this *mean*
? It means\, one can use standard linux infrastructure tools like *top*\,
*ps*\, *kill*\, etc to monitor the guest.\n\nKVM alone cannot handle ever
ything. It works best in conjunction with an interesting piece of technolo
gy called QEMU(Qucik EMUlator). \nQEMU emulates regular PC devices like ID
 E Hard-Disks\, VGA\, Mouse/Key-board\, Network Cards\, Sound Cards\, etc.\
n\nHow do you *manage* KVM based Virtual Machines? Using a solid manageme
nt library called 'Libvirt'\, and several virt-tools(like 'libguestfs' and
  friends).\n\n### Speaker bio\n\nKashyap works at Red Hat. He's a member o

There is a central team at IIIT-Hyderabad providing a backend infrastruct

DESCRIPTION:Chef is a systems integration framework\, built to bring the b

rom the NRPE checks can be dumped to plot performance and perform analysis
. This talk is basically how to finely integrate all the above tools to ge
