Virtualizations all, which to choose?

Submitted Apr 28, 2012

Understand the different virtualization technologies available.

Outline

I experimented a lot before figuring out what virtualization worked for us. This lecture gives an unbiased approach to the different products available out there and what worked best for me. I’ve tried vmware, OpenVZ, KVM, Xen, VirtualBox and finally settled on a barebones virtualization technology which has been working great for the past 3 years.

I use virtualization for setting up various enterprise applications for us as well as our clients. I also used it to set up development environments and test environments.

Speaker bio

I am a geek who has been learning for the last 20 years. Lately, for the past decade or so, have been experimenting with Linux and even more lately with clouds and virtualization.
