Scaling PHP in the Cloud

HasGeek’s seventh event, focusing on the challenges of scaling from single to multi-server deployments for PHP-based websites.

Deploying a PHP Website on AWS EC2

Submitted by Vivek Rp (@payuindia) on Thursday, 16 June 2011

Section: Deployment Technical level: Beginner Session type: Demo

Abstract

I have been asked from many people about how to deploy a website on AWS. So new comers to cloud will learn how to do it.

Outline

Many people on shared hosting just know how to upload using ftp or cpanel. But they want to move to cloud hosting. But this is not as easy as upload using ftp. So this demo will teach them about hosting on cloud. It will cover creating a server, choosing OS, connecting to it and installing apache, php, mysql, phpmyadmin, etc..

Requirements

There laptops. If they have account on AWS that will be very good.

Removing is not supported at the moment. I’ll add it in a bit.
