Commitment to Open Source

HasGeek believes in open source as the binding force of our community. If you are describing a codebase for developers to work with, we’d like it to be available under a permissive open source license. If your software is commercially licensed or available under a combination of commercial and restrictive open source licenses (such as the various forms of the GPL), please consider picking up a sponsorship. We recognize that there are valid reasons for commercial licensing, but ask that you support us in return for giving you an audience. Your session will be marked on the schedule as a sponsored session.

Workshops

If you are interested in conducting a hands-on session on any of the topics falling under the themes described above, please submit a proposal under the workshops section. We also need you to tell us about your past experience in teaching and/or conducting workshops.

BOF sessions

If you are interested in doing an unconference during the breakout sessions, propose a topic which will be of interest to the community.

Important dates:

Deadline for submitting proposals: 31 July 2015
Conference dates: 18-19 September
Workshops: 15, 16, 17 and 20 September

JavaScript SDK for Perceptual Computing using Intel RealSense Technology

Submitted Jun 24, 2015

With the Intel RealSense SDK, you have the access to robust, natural human-computer interaction (HCI) algorithms such as face tracking, finger tracking, gesture recognition, speech recognition and synthesis, fully textured 3D scanning and enhanced depth augmented reality. Using the SDK you can create web applications and games that offer innovative user experiences. This talk is all about creating a new world of interactivity using HTML5, JavaScript & Intel RealSense Technology.

Outline

Adding human-like perceptual abilities to computing devices, understanding Intel RealSense 3D Camera Architecture, SDK supported features, categories of input, capabilities and features and Intel RealSense programming modules. Creating a new world of interactivity - building a HTML5 Game - Your Face as a Game Controller using Javascript

Requirements

This can be conducted as a workshop too. Participants need to bring in laptops with Windows 7 and above. Basic knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript is preferred.

Speaker bio

I am a technology and start-up enthusiast. JavaScript is my second love, food comes first ;). I like coding, attending conferences, learning new things, meeting new people.
